The county governor, who visited the Yongmun Youth Culture House, which opened in early July, said he had been creating youth spaces throughout the county and promised to make efforts to operate programs by teenagers to prevent the purpose of each project from deteriorating.

In addition, he visited the Sinbokcheon local river renovation project site and asked to use materials and personnel in the jurisdiction and emphasized to actively review residents' opinions during construction in order to minimize complaints and inconvenience to residents, and improve residents' safety.

1일에는 ▲용문면의 용문 청소년 문화의 집 ▲지평면의 송현1리 마을쉼터 조성 현장을, 2일은 ▲서종면의 서종 탁구장 신충공사 ▲양서면의 몽양기념관 리모델링 및 부속시설 신축 관련 현장을 방문하고, 5일에는 옥천면의 ▲옥천-용천간 도로확포장공사와 ▲신복천 지방하천 개수사업 현장을 방문했다.

공약사업의 하나인 지난 7월 초 개관한 용문 청소년 문화의 집을 방문한 군수는 군 곳곳에 청소년 공간을 조성중이라며 각 사업의 목적이 변질되지 않도록 청소년에 의한 프로그램 운영이 실질적으로 이뤄질 수 있도록 노력할 것을 약속하며, 공약사업이행평가단과 함께 내부 시설을 둘러봤다.

또한, 신복천 지방하천 개수사업 현장을 방문해 관내 자재 및 인력을 사용할 것과 안전교육을 필히 할 것을 요청하며, 공사 진행 중 주민의견을 적극적으로 검토해 민원 최소화, 주민불편 최소화, 주민안전도 제고 등을 강조했다.

정 군수는 “각 사업장 마다 공사 완성도가 높아지기 위해서는 주민이 주체적으로 점검하고 관심을 가져야 한다”며 “지역주민 삶의 증진을 위한 요청사항을 최대한 반영해 사업이 잘 마무리됨으로써 주민들의 건강한 삶이 영위될 수 있기를 희망한다”고 말했다.
