Suwon City held a meeting of the 4th Suwon City Youth Safety Net Implementation Committee in 2021 and discussed ways to support youth in crisis.

The meeting, held at the Suwon Youth Foundation in Paldal-gu at 2 p.m. on the 9th, was organized to provide customized support services and promote healthy growth of youth in crisis by seeking case management and institutional linkage.

The Suwon Youth Safety Net Execution Committee, composed of officials from related organizations such as Suwon City Education and Youth Division Kim Eun-joo and Suwon City Youth Counseling and Welfare Center, deliberated on integrated management and support to  youth at high risk complaining of extreme psychological anxiety and decided to support the applicable ones.

youth at high risk who have been determined to be eligible for support will receive customized support, including psychological counseling treatment programs and medical expenses, from institutions related to the Youth Safety Net linked by Suwon City.

At the meeting, the executive committee also shared the "2021 Integrated Service Linkage Performance for Youth in Crisis" and discussed ways to revitalize the Youth Safety Net leading project.

Until October this year, Suwon City linked 18,786 services to youth in crisis, including 18,454 counseling and emotional support using internal resources and institutions related to youth, social protection (13 cases), basic living and economic support (34), educational and academic support (16 cases), medical support (4 cases), and cultural life support (265 cases).

In addition, the "Youth in Crisis Companion Support Service," in which experts with qualifications and experience in the counseling field continue to communicate with crisis youth in crisis and provide customized services by linking community resources, provided 23,550 cases, including counseling and emotional support and leisure and cultural activities.

Meanwhile, the "Youth Safety Net" project is aimed at quickly discovering youths in crisis and strengthening efficient and systematic support in connection with various local resources, and Suwon City has been carrying out the project for three years since it was selected as a local government of "Local Government Youth Safety Net Demonstration Project" organized by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family in 2019.

9일 오후 2시 팔달구 수원시청소년재단에서 열린 회의는 고위기 청소년에 대한 사례관리·기관 연계 방안 등을 모색해 맞춤형 지원 서비스를 제공하고, 위기 청소년의 건강한 성장을 도모하기 위해 마련했다.

김은주 수원시 교육청소년과장을 비롯한 수원시청소년상담복지센터 등 관련 기관 관계자로 구성된 ‘수원시 청소년안전망 실행위원회’는 극심한 심리적 불안감을 호소하는 고위기 청소년에 대한 통합 관리·지원 여부를 심의하고, 해당 청소년을 지원하기로 했다.

지원 대상자로 결정된 고위기 청소년은 수원시가 연계해준 청소년안전망 관련 기관에서 심리상담 치료 프로그램을 비롯한 의료비 지원 등 맞춤형 지원을 받게 될 예정이다.

이 자리에서 실행위원회는‘2021년 위기청소년 통합서비스 연계 실적’을 공유하고, 청소년안전망 선도사업 활성화 방안을 논의하는 시간도 가졌다.

수원시는 올해 10월까지 위기 청소년에게 수원지역 청소년 지원 관련 기관과 내부 자원을 활용한 상담·정서적 지원(1만 8454건), 사회적 보호(13건), 기초생활·경제적 지원(34건), 교육·학업 지원(16건), 의료 지원(4건), 문화생활 지원(265건) 등 1만 8786건의 서비스를 연계했다.

또 상담 분야 자격과 경험을 갖춘 전문가가 위기 청소년과 지속해서 소통하고, 지역사회 자원을 연계해 맞춤형 서비스를 제공하는 ‘위기청소년 청소년동반자 지원 서비스’는 상담·정서적 지원, 여가·문화 활동 지원 등 2만 3550건을 제공했다.

한편‘청소년안전망’사업은 위기 청소년을 신속하게 발굴하고 다양한 지역자원과 연계해 효율적·체계적 지원을 강화하기 위한 사업으로, 수원시는 지난 2019년 여성가족부가 주관한 ‘지자체 청소년안전망 시범사업’ 지자체로 선정된 이후 올해로 3년째 사업을 전개하고 있다.
